Welcome Back to the Heyday R.E.P.O.R.T.
Tinsel? Check. Twinkle lights? Check. A fresh R.E.P.O.R.T. from the Heyday crew? You bet. We’re talking cozy reads, local eats, holiday treats, and all the little things making the season bright. So grab your cocoa and unwrap our latest picks, because it’s time to Read, Eat, Play, Obsess, Recommend, and Treat yourself to a little holiday magic.
Reading
This winter, our team is diving into stories that warm the heart (and keep us turning pages late into the night). Here’s what’s on our nightstands right now:
Linds is finishing The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, a Heyday favorite that never stays on our little library shelf for long. Set in WWII France, it’s a powerful story of courage, love, and resilience that sticks with you long after you’ve turned the last page.
Amy picked up Sandwich by Catherine Newman, another gem from our Heyday library. It’s witty, heartfelt, and full of family chaos and charm. The perfect read for curling up indoors and pretending it’s still beach season.
Georgia has been loving the mystery bundles from Country Bookshelf, our favorite local spot for book lovers. Each bundle comes with a hint about what’s inside, making the unwrapping part just as exciting as the stories themselves. They make the best white elephant or Secret Santa gifts for any reader on your list.
Eating
The holidays are here, and our team is savoring every sweet, savory, and festive bite. From local favorites to new discoveries, here’s what’s making our season extra delicious:
Mal is loving Bee The Good honey, now available right here at Heyday. It’s local to Bozeman and extra special to us since it was started by Heyday’s original owner and founder, Lisa R. Perfect for drizzling over yogurt, stirring into tea, or gifting to the honey lover in your life.
Michelle is checking out one of Bozeman’s newest food trucks, Cross the Road. Their epic chicken sandwiches and drool-worthy specials are already making a name for themselves. If you haven’t tried it yet, this one’s worth braving the cold for.
Lisa is getting ready to entertain with beautifully curated cheeseboards from Joe’s Parkway. They take the guesswork out of holiday hosting with delicious combinations that always impress. Mark your calendar for Joe’s Holiday Sip & Sample event on Sunday the 23rd, where you can enjoy samples throughout the store, find great gift ideas, and get 10% off your purchases.
Playing
When the temperatures drop, our team finds plenty of ways to stay entertained and connected—whether it’s through friendly competition, cozy nights in, or a little holiday luck.
Tessa is keeping her holiday tradition alive by stuffing stockings with scratch-off lottery tickets. It’s a fun, low-stakes surprise that always brings some laughs (and the occasional small win).
Sarah has been hosting game nights with family and friends, the perfect way to stay warm and unwind during these chilly evenings. Her current favorite is Rack-O, a classic card game that’s easy to learn and surprisingly competitive once you get going.
Patty is keeping the pickleball bug going strong year-round. Bozeman’s pickleball scene keeps growing, and thanks to indoor spots like the Bozeman Classic Pickleball Club and The Picklr out by Four Corners, it’s easy to stay in the game no matter the weather.
Obsessing Over
From local holiday events to fresh creative inspiration, our team has plenty to gush about this season. Here’s what we can’t get enough of right now:
Lindsey is all about the holiday markets. They’re such a fun and festive way to spend the day, and Bozeman has no shortage of them. On our list: the Cannery District Holiday Stroll, the Northside Holiday Stroll, the Downtown Bozeman Christmas Stroll, the Belgrade Holiday Market, and the Rathvinden Farm Holiday Market. Hot cocoa and handmade goods? Yes, please.
We’re all obsessed with the latest Ski Like A Girl drop. New colors, new designs, same bold energy. It’s got us counting down the days until the lifts start spinning.
Brig has been channeling her creative side with all things DIY this season. From sewing projects to cyanotypes, she’s finding fun ways to make her holiday gifting extra personal. Proof that a little creativity goes a long way this time of year.
Recommending
The holidays are all about connection, creativity, and community. We’ve got a few favorite ways to celebrate all three.
First up, our holiday workshops! We’re bringing back our beloved wreath workshop and adding something new this year: a festive centerpiece workshop. It’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday—bring a friend, get creative, and leave with something beautiful for your home. Keep the holiday spirit going with some shopping downtown and enjoying stroll through the Christmas Stroll later that evening.
We’re also encouraging everyone to shop local this season. Bozeman is full of incredible small businesses, makers, and restaurants that make our community what it is. Supporting them not only spreads holiday cheer but keeps this little town thriving all year long.
And finally, if you’re able, consider volunteering or giving back this season. Whether it’s helping out at the Gallatin Valley Food Bank or Fork & Spoon, donating to Can the Griz, or contributing to a local warm winter drive, every bit of generosity goes a long way.
Treating Ourselves
Between shopping, decorating, and celebrating, it’s easy to forget to pause and recharge. Here’s how our team is treating themselves this season. You might just be inspired to do the same.
Holly is treating herself to a glass of wine at Ladies’ Night at Revelry. Not to be confused with the Downtown Bozeman Ladies’ Night coming up, this one happens every Tuesday. Grab your gals and check out their weekly deals and specials for an instant midweek mood boost.
Traci has been fueling her mornings with coffee and pastries from Aurore’s new downtown location inside the Baxter Hotel. It’s dangerously close to Heyday, so you’ll probably catch a few of us popping in for a sweet treat and caffeine fix to power us through the holiday hustle.
Dena is focusing on wellness this season with small group strength training with 406CT. It’s her way of staying grounded and strong through the busy weeks ahead. A reminder that self-care can look a lot like showing up for yourself.
Stay Cozy & Stay Tuned
We hope this holiday edition of the Heyday R.E.P.O.R.T. brings a little extra cheer to your season. Whether you’re curling up with a good book, exploring local markets, or treating yourself to something special, we hope you find moments of joy and connection along the way.
From our Heyday family to yours, happy holidays! Here’s to a bright, cozy, and joy-filled winter ahead.
